A 100 word submission for IronAge Media's prompt "The Mechanic."

The dragon stood there silent and unmoving, a metal statue to passers by, part of the deal it had made with the old man. Those who came marveled at the metal beast said to have been made by the inventor. The inventor had not created the dragon, nor claimed so. The deal was simple. The dragon desired knowledge, so the man would tell the dragon all he knew, and the dragon would stand like a statue to attract noteworthy personages. Pleased to learn about mankind, the dragon stood there throughout the decades as the old man divulged all his knowledge.
